AI Visibility

See how often AI answers include your business

ScaleLounge helps make your business easier for AI-driven discovery to understand, cite and surface, then monitors a defined sample of buyer questions.

Why it matters now

More research now starts with a question to AI

People increasingly use tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity to research options.

Those answers draw on what the web says about a business. Clear, consistent information gives them more to work with.

What owners want to know

Seven questions worth a clear answer

Your AI Visibility page is built around questions like these.

  • 01

Does AI understand what my business does?

  • 02

Does my brand appear in the answers?

  • 03

Is my website cited as a source?

  • 04

How do I compare with competitors?

  • 05

Am I included when options are recommended?

  • 06

Is AI discovery sending traffic or leads?

  • 07

    What should we improve next?

  • Monitoring answers most of these with observed data. The work answers the rest.

What ScaleLounge helps improve

Easier to understand, cite and surface

Most of it is careful marketing work, done with AI-driven discovery in mind.

  • Clear positioning

A plain statement of who you serve and what you do.

  • Useful authority content

Articles that answer real questions with specifics.

  • Crawlable, indexable pages

A site structure that search engines and AI tools can reach and read.

  • Consistent business details

The same name, services and details everywhere you are listed.

  • Strong service pages

One clear page for each service you want to be known for.

  • Internal linking

Links that connect related pages and show what matters most.

  • Structured data

Schema markup where it genuinely describes the page.

  • Answers to buyer questions

Ongoing content that answers what buyers actually ask.

Website and listing changes, such as new service pages, site structure and structured data, are scoped with you, within your plan or as quoted project work.

What the monitoring measures

Four observed rates, one published formula

We ask monitored AI providers a defined set of buyer questions and record what each observed answer contains.

  • 40Points

    Brand presence

Was the business named in the answer?

  • 25Points

    Owned citation

Did the answer cite the business’s own website?

  • 20Points

    Recommendation presence

When an answer lists options, was the business one of them?

  • 15Points

    Share of voice

Of the answers that name you or a tracked competitor, how often they name you.

Rules that keep it honest

The same rules run for every business, in the product itself.

  • No headline score under 20 valid observations. Until then the page says Building baseline.
  • Failed provider calls are left out, never counted as absence.
  • A measure with no data has its weight shared across the others, not scored as zero.
  • Traffic, leads and revenue stay out of the score.

Website impact

Visits and leads, reported on their own

With Google Analytics connected, the report shows visits and leads that arrived from AI tools.

  • Never blended into the visibility score
  • A lead from AI means the visitor converted, not that an AI recommended you
  • Google may withhold very small numbers, so a low count can be an undercount

What it does not claim

Honest about what a sample can show

The report says what was observed, with the number of answers behind each headline rate.

What the report is

  • A sample of observed answers to defined buyer questions
  • Measured through documented provider APIs
  • Headline rates shown with the number of answers behind them
  • Each provider’s disclosure kept visible on your page

What it never claims

  • A recording of what any person sees in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity
  • That any monitored provider is a consumer chat product
  • That AI will recommend you
  • That AI caused a sale
  • Coverage of Microsoft or Bing grounded answers, which are not currently monitored
On every client page

AI Visibility reflects observed results for the prompts, providers and locations being monitored. Individual AI responses may vary.

The monitored sources

  • Claude with web search

Anthropic’s API with the web search tool. A grounded answer with cited sources, not a recording of the Claude app.

  • OpenAI with web search

OpenAI’s Responses API with web search. Not a recording of ChatGPT, which varies by account, memory and session.

  • Gemini with Google Search grounding

The Gemini API with Google Search grounding. Not AI Overviews and not a personalised Google results page.

  • Perplexity Sonar

Perplexity’s Sonar API with live web retrieval and the sources it used. Answers in the Perplexity app may differ.

Microsoft and Bing grounded answers are not monitored. The standalone Bing Search API was retired in August 2025, and its successor is not configured.

What you see

A clear page, then the work

Your AI Visibility page in the ScaleLounge workspace shows:

  • Your score, or Building baseline while data builds
  • Presence, citation and share of voice
  • Where you show up, provider by provider
  • How you compare with tracked competitors
  • The questions monitored and where you appear
  • The sources shaping the answers
  • Opportunities, and what we are doing next
  • Each provider’s disclosure

Findings turn into work inside your agreed scope, with website and listing changes scoped within your plan or as quoted project work.

Katie reviews and publishes every finding before it reaches your page.

Questions

What owners ask about AI Visibility

Is this what ChatGPT shows my customers?

No. We observe answers through documented provider APIs, including OpenAI with web search. It is not a recording of what any person sees in ChatGPT, which varies by account, memory and session.

Can you guarantee AI will recommend us?

No, and nobody honestly can. We improve what AI-driven discovery can find and cite, then report what the monitored answers actually show.

How long before there is a score?

A headline score needs at least 20 valid observations. Until then your page shows Building baseline rather than a number that means nothing.

Which AI tools do you monitor?

Claude with web search, OpenAI with web search, Gemini with Google Search grounding and Perplexity Sonar. Microsoft and Bing grounded answers are not currently monitored.

Does the score include traffic and leads?

No. The score uses four observed rates only. Visits and leads from AI come from your Google Analytics and are reported separately.

Is it included in Social Essentials?

No. AI Visibility is part of the Growth Partner, Scale Partner and Executive Partner engagements, set up for each business.

What do you do with the findings?

Katie reviews them and publishes what is useful to your page. They then become work inside your agreed scope, and website or listing changes are quoted as project work where your plan does not cover them.
